14LHCD11-7A & 7B [2 CD Set - $6.00 Donation] - Geri McGhee - THE WISE OR FOOLISH VIRGINS - In this time, we are desperate for true wisdom that comes from God, the truth that sets us free. Over and over in scripture, we see examples of the importance of wisdom. In Matthew 25: 1-13 is the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. We see that all of them took lamps and went out together but only five of them took extra oil, resulting in the need to go buy oil and when they came back, the door was already closed to the wedding feast. Matthew 7: 24-27 tells of the wise man who built his house on a rock as compared to the one that built on sand and was washed away. The importance of bringing forth good fruit is emphasized. It’s not enough to believe in Jesus…demons believe and tremble.. and we know where they’re headed… we must obey God’s Word. We don’t obey to get saved. We obey because we are saved. In John 15:1- 11 we see the result of the good fruit tree as compared to a bad fruit tree which is cut down and burned. Tares and wheat look alike but the time will come for them to be recognized for what they are. Many, many scriptures are given to show the necessity of obedience and the connection to wisdom. We choose whether to obey or to rebel and… Deliverance prayers conclude service.
